In this project, I worked as a consultant to find an evidence-based and data-driven strategy for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) to reduce illegal fishing across the world. I worked as our team’s tech lead and oversaw the development of a dashboard that combined data and policy analysis to produce actionable intelligence.

My main contribution was to set the focus of the project by trading off the computational feasibility and effectiveness of different approaches. Furthermore, I structured and implemented a data pipeline that receives, transforms, and visualises relevant data. My network analysis proved to be a core contribution that would prove to change our client’s approach to illegal fishing.
